I just gave him two of the best swords i could find, upgraded. And hanharr (aggressive) was just another ridiculous tank like my character. Visas as a pure magic user (get her battle meditation and stuff, dark side or not, then set to jedi support). Had very good influence with these two, all 3 nearly maxed dark side alignment. I used hanharr and visas as my other party members (as much as possible).
